CU calls from birds feeding in trees, slight wind, distant Pheasant and Water Rail calls at end. USE: coast, marsh. In UK various sized flocks irregularly in Winter ( Nov-March), mainly along the east coast. Also Winter: Southern Scandinavia, eastern Europe - central Russia. As spots: Northern USA and southern Canada. In Summer: N. Scandinavia and N. Russia. As spots: N. North America. TIME: Give same calls year-round.

19. Ring-necked Parakeet (Psittacula krameri) 2'20"

CU calls from singles and several, others in distance, calls from Nuthatch, song from Blue Tit, Crows in b/g, distant traffic, wind in trees at times. USE: Park or garden, south London to Kent and Sussex, expanding north and west - recent introduction in UK. As spots: Indian sub-continent and from Senegal to Guinea east to southern Sudan. TIME: Jan-May, will call all year.

20. Ring-necked Parakeet ( Psittacula krameri ) 1'15"

CU calls from a single bird, contact calls from singles feeding in trees, aggressive call between two. USE & TIME: As track 19.

CU contact calls and display calls leading to copulation, others in distance, distant Crows, Redwing and dog in b/g. USE & TIME: Without Redwing as track 19, with Redwing Nov-March.

CU flight calls from one landing to join two others; flight and contact calls, then departure and flight calls; Robin, Blue Tit and Crow in b/g. USE & TIME: As track 19.

CU calls from 1-6 birds, flight calls; Starling, Blue Tit, Blackbird and Crow in b/g, distant voices, faint traffic. USE & TIME: AS track 19.

CU calls from a pre-roost flock of c250 birds sat in trees, bits of bark falling, sounds like only a few birds present, many preening or sat quitely. USE: As track 19. TIME: In UK, late Autumn, Winter.
